Granada come into this one on the back of a very disappointing performance, losing 4-1 to Villarreal and showing very little sign of causing a shock result. Luis Milla got the only goal from the spot.
That made it five straight defeats for Robert Moreno's men, following on from losses against Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, Osasuna and Getafe.
Granada are now one place above the drop zone, and four points above this weekend's rivals Cadiz.
Cadiz will be desperate to take their opportunity to close the gap, and they head across Andalusia on the back of two encouraging draws.
An Alvaro Negredo equaliser saw them take a point from Getafe last time out, and that followed a goalless draw with Celta Vigo.
Wins are required if Cadiz are going to climb out of danger, though, and never will that be more true than this weekend when Sergio Gonzalez's men have the opportunity to move within one point of safety.
Given Granada's form, they have every chance of doing so, too.
