Switzerland and Cameroon kick off their Group G campaigns on Thursday, both with ambitions of qualifying for the knockouts. With Brazil in their group, who are expected to top, one of these two or Serbia will have to settle for second spot.

Switzerland reached the quarter finals in Euro 2020, and have made it out the group on their last two World Cup campaigns, bowing out in the round of 16 both times. With the likes of Granit Xhaka, Fabian Schar and Manuel Akanji in their ranks, they have a good chance of sealing their Round of 16 place, and a win against Cameroon would be a good start.

Cameroon have lost their last six World Cup matches, finishing bottom of the group in both 2010 and 2014. They also failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. They did finish third in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, after winning their third place play-off.
